mksh
The MirBSD Korn Shell
mksh
Description
An actively developed free implementation of the Korn Shell programming language and a successor to the Public Domain Korn Shell (pdksh).
mksh targets users who desire a compact, fast, reliable, secure shell not cut off modern extensions; a shell with Unicode support; an actively developed, current, and portable product; one with developers that listen to their users’ requests and implement them if they actually make sense.
mksh aims to replace pdksh in all but very rare use cases (such as support for checking the Unix mbox) and in all operating environments (thus including patches from pdksh on e.g. Debian).
Install
Channel stable v59c-2
This app is curated in HaikuPorts. Install it from there, it is already available in HaikuDepot.
pkgman install mksh
Careful: the file comes from HaikuPorts' own server, but installing it by hand is not the way in. It is pkgman that resolves the dependencies an .hpkg does not carry with it, and a package installed on its own may simply not run. Use the pkgman command above, unless you know exactly why you want the file.
